From November 25th 2022 on: library closed on Saturdays

Due to the university-wide energy saving measures the library will be closed on Saturdays in the period from November 25th 2022 to March 31st 2023.

The Economics and Mmanagement Library welcomes all new students at the Technische Universität Berlin and the Faculty of Economics and Management. We support you in get started using the library with:

You can now conduct our free self-study courses "Searching in economic databases" and "Managing literature with Citavi" anytime and anywhere. 

Many participants at the 5th Long Night of the Studies@DBWM


On Monday, July 11th, we welcomed over 120 participants at our 5th Long Night of the Studies which took place under the motto "Carpe Noctem! Seize the night!". Students could learn together until midnight and enjoy self-made cakes and snacks, visit our book flea market, or get their heads free in our relaxation oase and with games. The highlight of the evening was the motivation speech of Dr. Haase, who shared his learning experiences with the students. The positive feedback of the particpiants shows how important the exchange for students is, which we encouraged with this event. 

5th Long Night of the Studies @DBWM on July, 11th



On Monday, July 11th, the 5th Long Night of the Studies will take place at the Economics and Management Library of the faculty VII. Participants can learn together until midnight, get free beverages and snacks, relax in our relaxation spaces and clear the heads with some games. Furthermore, a book collection on learning strategies and stress reduction as well as our book flea market will be available.


Wearing masks not required from 10.06.22 on


From June, 10th on, masks are no longer required in the library. It is highly recommended to still wear a mask.

Relaxing restrictions regarding wearing masks in the library


Due to the expiration of the SARS-CoV-2 Occupational Health and Safety Regulations on 26 May, the following rules will apply from June 1st, 2022 on:


  • Recommendation to wear at least a medical mask (preferably FFP2 mask)
  • If the distance is less than 1,5 m, wearing at least a medical mask (preferably FFP2 mask) is mandatory
  • In group study rooms, computer lab and relaxation room wearing at least a medical mask  (preferably FFP2 mask) is mandatory

Journal lounge available again


From now on you will find the current year's journal issues again on the shelf in our journal lounge. 

Group study rooms online reservable



Our group study rooms can be used again by more than one person (four or up to eight). Moreover, a new tool allows you to reserve the rooms online. Please note, that a second person needs to confirm the reservation.

New comprehensiv e-book collection of the Pearson pubshing house available


The central library has licensed a comprehensive e-book-package that includes numerous books in Economics and Business in German and English. In 2022 all titles are available. In 2023 it is planned to license titles that have been used the most in 2022. An overview of relevant titles can be found here: Title list. Please contact our .

Changes of Corona-restriction from April, 11th on



From April, 11th on, some restriction of our services will be removed that have been necessary due to the Corona pandemic.

All study spaces in the reading rooms as well as the group study spaces (next to the reading room law, PC room) are available again. Waering a medical or FFP2-mask is required whenever the 1,5 m distance cannot be maintained. In addition, a mask is required in the group study spaces above, since only unsufficient ventilation is possible.

New database: IBISWorld


Our new database IBISWorld contains detailed reports of more than 4,000 industry sectors of most relevant global markets like Germany, UK, USA, China and Canada. Further information on the database are available on our website.  

New service: ScanTent



With our new ScanTent you can scan for example books with your smartphone. You can find it next to the entrance of the reading room law. You can scan with or without an App. With the App you will be able to scan faster and to create documents that allows you to search for words within them.

Library will be closed during the Christmas holidays



The Economics and Management Library is going to close from December 24th, 2021 until January 1st 2022 due to the Christmas holidays. The library is going to close at 4pm at December 23rd.

New opening hours: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm (from October 12th on)


From Monday, October 25th, 2021 the library has extended hours: Mon-Fri from 9am - 9pm and Sat 10am - 4pm.

ProQuest One Business: New database licensed

October 2021

With ProQuest One Business we have licensed a holistic full-text database in the business and management field. It includes scientific publications in this field as well as market, industry and country reports. With its intuitive interface, users can easily browse its content. ProQuest One Business replaces our license of the ABI/Inform database.

Extended opening hours

From Monday, September 14th, 2020 we will extend our opening hours. The library will be open Mo-Fr from 10:00 am-6:00 pm.

Please note that the access to the main building and the library is still limited to people with seat reservations or book order notifications.

Order of DBWM-media for borrowing possible from 25.5. on!

From 25.5.2020, members of the TU and UdK can order DBWM media via the Knowledge Portal Primo. The media will be provided for you in the main university library/UB and can be borrowed and returned at the self-check-out counters. Please register in advance at the Knowledge Portal Primo and set up a PIN for the self-check-out counter (the postcode is preset).

Group study rooms reservable for only three hours now


Due to the high demand, you can reserve hour group study rooms only for three hours from now on.

New database ABI/INFORM


 Our new database ABI/INFORM Collections is a bibliographic database that comprises the following three sub-databases

  • ABI/INFORM Global: full-text scholarly journals, working papers, periodicals, dissertations, trade journals (The Economist, The Wall Street Journal)
  • ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry: Market and company reports as well as trade publications from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), BMI Research, Oxford Analytica, etc.
  • ABI/INFORM Dateline: Market and company information with a regional focus

We would like to highlight particularly that The Economist is available in ABI/INFORM (Tutorial).

Subject areas include Accounting, Business, Business Trends, Competitive landscape and product information, Corporate strategies, Economic conditions, Finance, Management techniques and Management theory.

The Knowledge Portal Primo has a new interface. Change the language via the "menü" button at the right side of the website. 

Learning together liberates engergies


July, 13th

Our second Long Night of the studys was a huge success. Many students came to the library to learn together, to chat, to play games and to strengthen themselves with beverages and snacks. Alltogether:

  • 17 trays of homemade cakes and snacks have been eaten,
  • 40 liters of ice tea, 26 liters of coffee and 10 liters of tea have been drunken.

Every desk was occupied and the students were learning until late in the night.

We are thanking all participants for a wonderful night.

DBWM nominated as best practice in information literacy

Our library has been nominated as best practice in information literacy for the second time. The competition is organized in cooperation of the VDB (Verein Deutscher Bibliothekare) und des dbv (Deutschen Bibliotheksverbandes). 

The topic of this years' competition is "concepts for qualifying employees and for the optimal staffing in teaching information literacy". In 2015 we won the second place with our scenario-based learning videos. 

On June 13th the winners will be announced at the 107. Deutschen Bibliothekartag.

DBWM celebrates 50th anniversary



The Economics and Management Library celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion many different activities will be spread across the whole year like retrospectives, looks behind the scenes, a photo exhibition and different raffles. Each week an activity will take place starting in February. Information are available on Facebook or on our website.

Test access Country Reports Economist Intelligence Unit

A test access to current Country Reports of the Economist Intelligence Unit-database is available until the end of April 2018: http://country.eiu.com/AllCountries.aspx. It includes all countries and is updated on a monthly basis. Data on the current and expected economical and political outlook, foreign trade and an overview of key economic indicators is available and can be exported to differ.ent formats. More information about the database is available on the website of the Economist Intelligence Unit (www.eiu.com).

Delivery Service "Copy order" available


The delivery service "Copy order" is available again. You can order scans of journal articles that are only licensed in a printed form by the TU libraries.

Prospectively limited access to journals of the Elsevier publishing house from 2018 on


The negotiations of German research institutions and universities with the Elsevier publishing house remained unsuccessful. The aim was to gain a nationwide licence agreement in the context of the DEAL-project. It may therefore be assumed that the access to current issues of Elsevier journals will be limited from 2018 on. For further information, please see our website.

Website and library classes are available in English now

Our website and information material are available in English from now on. Moreover, we offer library classes and workshops in English upon request. A couple of our e-learning videos are already translated and can be watched on our YouTube-channel

Michaela Jobb is the new head of the library


On August 14th, Michaela Jobb took over the leadership of the Economics and Management Library of the TU Berlin, which Petra Niklas managed on an interim basis for 14 months.

Mrs Jobb has a degree in library science (Diplom) and finished her master studies in library and information systems at the HU Berlin. She was a lecturer at several organizations and worked for the Berlin Social Science Center. She build up the library of the Hertie School of Management from scratch as its leader. Mrs Jobb is engaged as founder and board member in different associations like the AG Bibliotheken privater Hochschulen (working group of libraries at private universities) and the Berliner Arbeitskreis Information (Berlin working group information).
