Database Information System DBIS

You can find licensed databases by the TU Berlin in the Database Information System (DBIS). This tool also shows free databases and gives detailed information on the access modalities, the database type and the contents of each database. After clicking on the “subject overview” in the left menu you can select between business and economics to get relevant databases for your field of study.

ABI/INFORM Collections is a bibliographic database that comprises the following three sub-databases

  • ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry: Market and company reports as well as trade publications from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), BMI Research, Oxford Analytica, etc.
  • ABI/INFORM Dateline: Market and company information with a regional focus

Off-campus access is possible via web-based program Shibboleth.
Some full text journals have an embargo period, meaning there is a delay in publication through EBSCO. This delay can be between 1 and 5 years.

Narrow down your search to specific databases such as Web of Science Core Collection or the Derwent Innovations Index to search for international patents in the fields of chemistry, electrical engineering or engineering in general. To find the Impact Factor of a journal go to the Journal Citation Reports tab. Select the Social Sciences Edition.

Statista is a database for researching quantitative data, statistics and related information. Statista provides access to over one million statistics and facts. Categorized into 21 market sectors, Statista provides direct access to quantitative data on media, business, finance, politics, and a wide variety of other areas of interest or markets.
The "Study database" contains studies conducted by market researchers, associations, companies and public institutions.
The "Industry Reports" (ibid.) provide conventional indicators as well as SWOT-analyses, forecasts, market comparisons, and annual reports, all of which are available online.
